Veramendi Lends a Helping Hand at New Braunfels Food Bank
In a heartwarming display of community spirit and generosity, 17 ASA Properties employees and their families recently gathered at the New Braunfels Food Bank to lend a helping hand. Volunteers helped to assemble bread bags – amounting to over 1,000 pounds of bread in total – that ultimately went to serve 203 local families in need. This event marks the second time this year that Veramendi has come out to contribute at the Food Bank, with more events planned for the future!
Serving Southwest Texas
The New Braunfels Food Bank, originally founded in 2010 by the San Antonio Food Bank as The Kitchen Table, has expanded its reach to serve Comal and surrounding counties. The Food Bank not only provides food for immediate needs but also offers resources to help clients achieve long‑term self‑sufficiency.
The summertime is notably one of the busiest periods for the Food Bank, making the support from the Veramendi volunteers particularly impactful, and the volunteers’ efforts ensured that many families would have essential food supplies during this high‑demand season.
A Commitment to Community Impact
The Veramendi Charitable Foundation, established in 2019, aims to reflect Veramendi’s values through philanthropy and service. The foundation supports more than a dozen nonprofit organizations and community initiatives in New Braunfels, and with the guidance of the Veramendi Project Committee and the Charitable Giving Committee, the foundation’s mission is to uplift and serve the local community through thoughtful and impactful charitable actions.
With more volunteer days scheduled throughout the summer, Veramendi continues to demonstrate its commitment to community service and support for local nonprofits, and the work of our wonderful resident volunteers is a testament to the power of community involvement and the positive impact it can have on those in need.
