New Braunfels Weather in Winter

New Braunfels in winter is relatively mild compared to the rest of the continental United States. There are many sunny, beautiful, and dare we say “hot” days to enjoy. There are most certainly scorchers and there are most certainly below freezing days during the winter as well. What’s important to remember is the majority of days are relatively mild and fluctuate between 45‑65 degree fahrenheit over the course of winter. Read on to learn more about the other seasons in the greater New Braunfels area and why you should learn more about the thriving Veramendi community.

New Braunfels Weather in Spring

As the season begins to warm up on a consistent basis, the flowers will begin to blossom and the temperatures will move from the colder average temperatures to a warmer average temperature ranging from 65‑85 degrees fahrenheit. This higher temperature tends to attract a more rainy climate as the seasons begin to transition from winter to spring and spring to summer. Overall, you can expect to see the classic April showers which are synonymous with spring time.

New Braunfels Weather in Summer

As the summer months begin to come around the corner in New Braunfels, there are several things to be aware of. Below is a list of precautionary action items you and your family should make sure to implement across your daily routine if possible:

  • Wear sunscreen, even if it’s cloudy
  • Stay hydrated! (Drinking lots of water, especially when exercising in summer is crucial!)
  • Wear lighter‑colored clothing and protective hats
  • Avoid the sun for prolonged periods of time, seek shelter, and contact the proper health services/emergency center if you experience chills in the heat (this is a sign of heat stroke)
  • Try to avoid going outside during the peak sunlight hours from 12pm‑5pm unless you’re planning on going swimming in a refreshing, cold body of water

As you can most likely guess form the above points, summer in New Braunfels, and Texas altogether, is one of the hottest states in the nation. Be safe, be proactive, and you’ll be a‑okay.

New Braunfels Weather in Autumn

As the summer begins to wind down and transition into what should be “cooler months” by most people’s standards, you’ll begin to find there’s still a lingering “summer effect” well into October. Expect temperatures to still linger in the 80s, well into October and possibly November. This is fantastic for the snowbirds who plan on staying in the New Braunfels area for the holidays! In addition to the cooler months, at the beginning of the season you should be sure to maintain the lawn of your new home as the seasons begin to transition even further. According to Lawnstarter, cutting no more than 33% of the grass blade height at one time will allow your lawn to grow in nicely and be ready for outdoor enjoyment. This process can significantly improve the look and feel of your new home’s lawn and have you being able to spend the Fall days in the backyard with proper lawn planning maintenance for the coming winter season.
