SEE WHAT’S BELOW AT NATURAL BRIDGE CAVERNS!
Whether you’re and active spelunker, Texas cave aficionado or a novice to exploring the world below, if you’re even just a little interested in exploring a cavern or two, the Texas Hill Country is the perfect playground. And the best part is, you don’t have to go far from the exciting new master planned community, Veramendi, to set off on your cave expedition. Located 13 miles west of Veramendi, Natural Bridge Caverns San Antonio was first explored by college students in 1960 from St. Mary’s University. After four expeditions they discovered a cave system that spanned two miles. While we may not know Natural Bridge Caverns age precisely, it was perhaps formed as far back as 20 million years ago when several faults formed in Texas due to settling of the coastal regions. The students’ discovery is now one of Texas’ most popular attractions and one the world’s best show caverns.
